HOT TUB TIME MACHINE(2010)

I don't know how a movie with this title has gotten so much hype over the last few weeks? It reminds me of "Snakes on a plane". Another movie that had everyone talking because of a stupid name and premise. I can say that "Hot Tub Time Machine" is better than "Snakes on a Plane", but it still doesn't deserve all the hype it's been getting. It is funny but not hilarious and it's not quote worthy either. You have to just roll with the time continuum stuff, since it doesn't really make sense.

Four friends who have lost touch and their respective lives go on a trip together. That's where this hot tub time machine sends them back to winter fest 86 and the story takes place. There is really no explanation for anything, nor does any of the altering of time really make sense.

You will laugh, but how much is the question? Not quite funny enough to make up for the lack of coherence. I'd still recommend this to anyone who likes comedies, but I can't say it's a must see.

REPO MEN(2010)

This movie had promise to be a kick ass action flick, but it's more of a sci-fi movie with a little action to it. Not a total disaster, but far from excellent.

In the near future, organ transplants are available to anyone. When they can't keep up with the huge interests rates, the Repo men literally take back the organs. Jude Law and Forrest Whitaker play buddies who are the best repo men out there. When Jude Law needs a new heart he can't pay for it, because he has a change of heart about his job and can no longer carry out his missions.

This is the exact definition of an average movie. It's there and worth seeing, but that's about it. This is not for everyone, but it's not terrible or good. It's very average.

GREEN ZONE(2010)

Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon team up for again after the last two ''Bourne" movies. Not on the same level as those films, but has some tense moments and good story. All the hand held camera stuff is getting kind of old though.

Matt Damon is a chief officer in the army searching for weapons of mass destruction. When his team keeps coming across bad intel, he starts to smell a rat.

The movie drags here and there, but the story is intriguing enough to keep you watching. I wouldn't say this is a must see, but it's worth a viewing.

THE BOUNTY HUNTER(2010)

Let me just say that I'm one of the few guys that doesn't mind romantic comedies. You know exactly what's going to happen, but yet they still usually are watchable. "The Bounty Hunter"is one of the few that just doesn't work on any level. No romance. No comedy. No excitement. It tries on all of those categories, but fails miserably.

Gerard Butler is a bounty hunter that has to bring in Jennifer Aniston, his former wife. She is a hot shot reporter on the verge of busting open a murder case, which causes her to miss her court date and making her a fugitive in the process. They get chased the whole time and fall into love. The end.

Pretty stupid and boring at the same time. Not a good combination for a movie. I can't recommend this movie to anyone.

SHE'S OUT OF MY LEAGUE(2010)

Not a classic comedy by any means, but I enjoyed what this movie was. An "R" rated romantic comedy that has some funny moments and some missed jokes. The movie definitely had its laugh out loud moments and a little heart to go with it. Not as good as the Judd Apatow "R" rated comedies, but still entertaining enough.

A TSA agent at the airport returns a cell phone to a hot girl who thanks him for returning her phone by taking him to a hockey game. They hit it off and start to date even though he feels he's not good enough for her. Which leads to the riffs in the relationship.

I'd say this is good for anyone who enjoys some raunchy comedies. It's a rental for sure.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND(2010)

I just recently watched the disney version of "Alice in Wonderland" and they really have nothing in common except for the characters in the movies.

The Disney version really had no plot. Alice just roamed through wonderland running into a bunch of characters along the way. She eventually wakes up and is back home like nothing happened.

Tim Burton's version has her older and returning to Wonderland after chasing a rabbit down a hole. She is the one who is to set free Wonderland from the Red Queen. Once she realizes who she is and accepts the challenge then it's up to her and the Mad Hatter to conquer the Red Queen and free Wonderland. A little slow paced and boring at times. Burton still manages to salvage a decent movie from this tale. I like how he made an adventure out of the tale and to make it real and not a day dream.

I would give this a low recommendation, but it's not as good as it looked.

THE CRAZIES(2010)

I had no idea what this movie was really about, but it seemed like it could be a good thrill ride and it was alright. The movie starts out on a good note, but then turns to pretty much a zombie movie without the zombies. It's just a normal movie about escaping a town of people who get turned crazy or zombie like in this movie. A couple of tense moments and it works for the most part. Nothing to rave about, but wasn't bad enough to complain about either.

The movie takes place in a small town where we find out that a bio weapon crashed into the town's water supply. People start to go crazy and the government comes in to "clean" it out. Then it's a matter of survival for the town sheriff and his small group of refugees.

It's worth a view if you like any thrillers/horror movies.

COP OUT(2010)

Not even Bruce Willis can make this movie work. It's a poor man's Lethal Weapon. Only lacking in humor and action. I expected a decent entertaining movie, but I was surprised at how boring this movie was from start to finish.

A cop and his partner need to track down a stolen baseball card so Bruce Willis can pay for his daughter's upcoming wedding. Which coincidentally interconnects with the drug lords they have been investigating this whole time. Pretty lame and not really worth the time. None of the heart or humor as the Lethal Weapon franchise.

It's barely watchable, but some may enjoy a quick distraction for 90 minutes.
