I just went HD at home

I just watched my first HD movie at home and it was everything I thought it would be! I had the privlege of watching one of my favorites(Batman Begins) as my first ever HD Movie. Nothing short of fantastic. It's not a gimmick, get it as fast as you can. I know there are format questions out there, but the movies are too good. Audio is next, but not for a while.

Epic Movie

This movie doesn't even deserve my time or a picture to go with the article. All these spoof movies of genres have been terrible. I think "Date movie" was one of my worst films of last year. It was way better than this film. A bunch of spoofs or skits of movies we've all seen and there isn't anything funny about these actors copying other characters. This is one of the few movies that I will calla chore to watch. I knew it would be stupid, but there are plenty of stupid funny movies. "Talladega Night's" to name one. It can be done, but I wouldn't recommend this pile of crap to my worst enemy. May god have mercy on writers and the director for this heap of poop.

Hatchet

A throwback to classic 80's slasher flicks. Not really my cup of tea when it comes to horror films. Lot's of gore and boobs. No real plot, just a lot of killing and chasing. A supernatural type killer like Michael Myers that can't be killed. Pretty straight forward. If you like those old school slasher films, then this was done to an homage for them. If you don't, then it's a pretty worthless film. Worth a rental if you like lot's of gore and bodies being ripped apart. I prefer the more thought provoking horror/suspense genre.

Sweeney Todd

My mom and I went and saw "Sweeney Todd" on saturday night. Tim Burto and Johnny Depp are unstoppable together. I was a little worried with the whole musical aspect, but it was really well done. Tim Burton's vision is incredible! Depp awesome as usual. He definately needs to be nominated for an Oscar, Golden Globe, and of course a Rockar. The songs were more of a singing conversation and they just narrative for the audience. It could've been a really bad movie, but I was very entertained and the dark and tragic story was a nice and refreshing. It's funny that two of my favorites were a tragic and depressing movies(Into the wild and Sweeney Todd). If you don't like musicals at all, then you shouldn't watch this. If you're open about it and want to see a different kind of film, then I highly recommend this film. I loved it and hope you give it a chance. I normally don't like musicals, but I was opened minded about this one with the director and actors credentials. This is a "For sure" pick and it's up in my top 5 for 2007.

National Treasure 2: Book Of Secrets

Let's just say that the sequel doesn't bring anything new to the table. But I'm alright with that. I enjoyed the first outing. They stuck with what made the first film a surpirse blockbuster. Don't take this one too serious. A crazy plot that doesn't really add up, but just go with it and you'll have a good time. If you liked the first one at all, then I'd recommend this film to you. You'd like it for the same reasons as the last one. That's also the biggest down fall. Why make the same movie over? Because people liked it and it made hundreds of millions of dollars. This is a "For Sure" for pure entertainment value. Check all reason at the door. It's just another day another treasure for Nic Cage.

I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry

This movie is gay! It's an Adam Sandler movie, that's all I really need to write. 2 guys that get married for medical benefits. It's a total formularic movie and those are all good if it's funny. It's unfortunate that Sandler now only makes comedies with a a lesson to be learned with the corny obvious endings. What ever happened to the Billy Madisons and Happy Gilmores? Maybe rent it if you have a rental plan, but don't pay a straight up 4 or 5 bucks for it. That's usually how I watch so much crap. I justify it by saying it's already been paid for.

I Am Legend

Let's start off, by saying it's better than I thought. I really hate Lawrence Frank. I'd punch him in the face for his last directorial effort. It was a piece of Crap called "Constantine". I really enjoyed the character acting in this film Unlike the turd Keanu Reeves in the previously mentioned movie. This is Will Smith giving a great performance. I haven't seen such great stuff from him since "The Fresh Prince" days. I'd rate this one a "For Sure". Tha'ts my way of saying go see it. The Batman trailer is reason enough. It's good, but not great.
